Good Practice in Data Processing
The resources contained here are designed to be used once data has been collected following the methods set out in the instrument-specific How-to Guides and Experimental Design Statements contained in the Good Practice in Data Collection page.
The documents here detail how to organise and process data collected with each instrument in the toolkit, utilising commonly available spreadsheet software. The guides deal with simple operations such as testing data for normality (the identification of likely errors) and the application of simple statistical tests which enable the user to identify any significant variability within the data, a key tool used for the identification of consolidants within stone. The final stage outlined in these guides is the presentation of data for sharing, including which elements to include in visual representations such as graphs and charts.
